Kelcie Mc Bride Executive Director

Kelcie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations from Fort Hays State University. Most of my background is in higher education, including on-campus housing, college and career advising, and financial aid. I enjoy working one-on-one with people and giving presentations to large groups. I have experience in event planning, identifying opportunities for program development, implementing marketing strategies, and coordinating compliance requirements. My most recent work experience was at Nebraska Children’s Home Society as a Pregnancy, Parenting, and Adoption Specialist and as a Permanency Support Specialist with Right Turn (post-adoption case management).

Throughout previous work experiences, I encountered situations where individuals had experienced varying levels of trauma, including homelessness, sexual assault, poverty, intimate partner violence, stalking, students whose parents left one day and never came back, and more. I have a passion for helping people, and advocating for what is best for each individual as opposed to implementing a “one size fits all” approach. I believe that it is critical to individualize our approach as we help people thrive and become their definition of success.
